Biography: Jean Alexander was the daughter of a well
known artist, Robert G. D. Alexander, born
at Priest's Cottage at Shenfield in Essex
where she was living in 1938. During her
early life she lived at Brentwood and then
for many years at Walton on the Naze on the
north Essex coast. She exhibited widely,
including at the Royal Academy in London
and on many occasions at the New English
Art Club.
