Biography: Painter in water-colour of animals, figures and landscapes. Born on 30th ay 1892 in Edinburgh. Educated at Edinburgh University. commissioned in the Indian Army 1912 and was Company commander of the 4th Gurkha Rifles. Pained many Indian subjects. Studied at the Edinburgh college of Art 1912, 1917, 1920, under William Walls, David Alison and Robert Burns. Exhibited at the R.S.A., R.S.W., G.I.,S.S.A.,S.M.A., etc. Elected R.S.W. 1945. After his retirement for the Army he settled in Scotland and lived at Dunkeld in Perthshire. Died on 14th October 1956.
