Biography: Although maintaining a studio on New York
City, Gordon Grant was a native
Californian
and was active in California
throughout his
career as a member and exhibiter
of the California
Printmakers and California Society
of Etchers.
Other prestigious memberships
included: Salmagundi
Club NY, NY Society of Painters,
Chicago
Society of Etchers. He had major
exhibits
at the Library of Congress 1944-46
and Painters
and Sculptors of LA 1931, 1937.
His works
are held in the permanent collections
of
such institutions as: Whitney
Museum, Library
of Congress, Anapolis Naval Academy
and the
White House.
Grant is listed in Davenport's
Art Reference,
Dawdy, Fieldings, Edan Hughes,
Mallets, and
Who was Who in American Art.
