About the Artist: John Haskins was born in Bermondsey, London.
After graduating from art college with his
City & Guilds in illustration, he joined
industry, specialising in illustrating and
depicting technical products of such industrial
giants as British Aerospace, Hawker Siddeley
Aviation, Rolls and Nasa. He rose to the
position of Chief illustrator and eventually
ran his own publishing company, but now devotes
his full attention to landscape painting,
working almost exclusively in acrylics.
Working from his countryside home and studio,
his paintings evoke an atmosphere of nostalgia
for the life of the countryside. Apart from
over two hundred reproductions of his work
appearing on greeting cards, he has produced
numerous limited edition prints and book
illustrations. Davenport's Reference Guide records sales of up to $2,900. Examples
