About the Artist: Painter of portraits and figure subjects in watercolour. Born in Edinburgh, educated at Dundee, and studeid art at the R.S.A. Schools, Edinburgh. Worked largely in Scotland but also spent some time in Holland where he came under the influence of Israels, Maris and Mauve. Elected R.S.W. 1899, A.R.S.A. 1893 and R.S.A. 1909.
