"Approach to Glacier," oil on panel,
signed l/r,
12" x 16" sight, 18" x 22"
frame.
About the Painting: Excellent. Acquired from the artist. New
frame.
About the Artist: Taylor Lynde is a Montana artist who studied
at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, but chose
the grandeur of the Western landscape for
inspiration. He has worked in multiple mediums
depicting a variety of subjects, but presently
is concentrating on landscapes in oil. His
work can be seen in galleries and private
collections throughout the United States.
Artist Statement: My process of doing paintings usually starts
from doing small to medium field studies
on location. When the subject calls for it,
I'll take to the studio to do a larger work
from the outdoor studies and photographs.
I like to drive and travel looking for landscapes
to paint. I have great memories of painting
the East and West coasts, Europe, Canada,
Mexico, Guatemala, and especially my home
state (Montana). My Dad was a cartoonist
and later i attended fine art study at Pratt
Institute in Brooklyn, NY on scholarship.
Most of my painting education, however, comes
from the raw landscape and generous artists/mentors
who were able to critique and encourage me.
I learn more everytime i go out - gifts to
my heart - again and again.
