Biography: Don Swann, Sr. was an American artist who
made his home in Baltimore and studied in
Munich, Germany and Italy. He is known for
his historic Americana, ships, trees, U.S.
Navy and series of schools, colleges and
Universities. His later subjects included
many in color. His work has been advertised
and exhibited in many cities in the United
States and included in the permanent collections
of the Metropolitan Museum, Mrs. John D.
Rockeffer, Jr, Franklin D. Roosevelt, U.S.
Naval Museum, J.P. Morgan, Congressional
Library, and other prominent collectors and
connoisseurs. The Smithsonian Institute acquired
33 original etchings for the Division of
Graphic Arts. He died in 1954. $ 245.00
