About the Painting: Very good condition.
About the Artist: Born in Bristol, but moved with his family
to Langdale, near Ambleside. From there and
later from Windermere he exhibited works
at the Royal Academy, the Suffolk Street
Gallery, the New Water Colour Society and
in Carlisle. He became an RBA in 1895 and
in 1904 was a founder member of the Lake
Artist's Society. He painted widely throughout
the north of England and illustrated the
book Wordsworthshire with nearly fifty drawings.
