inscribed lower left, 12.5" x 17.75" sight, 22" x 27" frame.
About the Artist: .Born in Edinburgh. Studied art at the R.S.A. Schools, at the Académie Julian in Paris, and in Antwerp. Exhibited at the R.A. from 1892, also at the R.I., Paris Salon, and in Scotland. Elected R.I. 1917. P. W. Hay was a painter of landscape, portrait, figure and still life. He exibited widely, including 27 paintings at the Royal Scottish Academy, 33 at the Glasgow Institute, 64 at the Royal Academy, and 136 at the Royal Watercolor Society.
